WHAT: A Sailor Moon anime-themed quinceañera celebration, fitted with a pink carpet, for a deserving Latina cancer patient. The event ws held at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles thanks to the in-kind support of donors, who are provided Alma with a quinceañera dress, makeup and hairstyle, limo transportation, music, décor, food and cake, and much more.
The event was held at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles thanks to the philanthropic support of presenting sponsor DEL Records and CHLA’s Los Compadres, a philanthropic group comprised of Latino community influencers and leaders, as well as in-kind support of community business donors, who provided Alma with a unique event to celebrate her birthday and the strength she’s demonstrated during her long medical journey.
WHO: The Quinceañera, Alma Molina, is a 15-year-old patient at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles who was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a devastating cancer that required many surgeries and endless stays at the hospital since the age of 7. Now,more than 7 years since her cancer diagnosis, Alma, like many other Latinas, was looking forward to celebrating her quinceañera with family and friends, a dream she has held since she was a little girl. Her celebration would have only been a dream without the help of DEL Records and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Los Compadres, who partnered to make her 15th birthday bash possible.
